It is worth every dollar. The eco mode doesn’t work right anymore either. For the same price point now, this one is way brighter.Thirty minutes later with projector on ladder and words reading left to right did I finally invert picture. That was a very good projector I had purchased a new bulb for it and very recently the color went out on it and it was only in black-and-white.You don’t need to completely black out a room, this works OK with natural light depending on how much is coming in.We haven’t had a chance to try that out yet, as the Amazon Studio speaker we ordered to provide the sound is on backorder and won’t be arriving until Jan 3rd.It started out as a few but has progressed steadily over the last month or two to the point where it’s very noticeable.Pros: Brightness, clarity, just the overall picture quality — whether you’re watching movie, streaming videos, or playing games. The picture quality is decent when I can get it to project something. But after 2 years, white dots are beginning to take over the screen. On the back of the machine there are two “legs” but only one of them is adjustable, the other is fixed.5 years. It’s very frustrating.I really haven’t noticed a difference in quality from playing on a large screen tv to the projector — a very smooth gaming experience. The speaker is OK but you do need to have a real speaker. It was a tough decision between the Epson and Optoma.I don’t use the volume on it, so can’t comment on that.

We use it in the living room instead of a tv, but I have owned this less than a year and already there are a ton of dead pixels all over the screen.Even my non descriminating family noticed the clarity without my prompting.my last optoma lasted 5 years with no problem, this one 18 months….I’ll just say you get what you pay for….It came with image problem which gave me concerns about the reliability.Picture was good though, but I don’t think I will go with this brand again.Compared to my last projector this is way more silent, brighter, and quality is immense. We have to wait until dusk, but that’s okay, it’s starting to get darker earlier now.The color is not nearly as vibrant as the older Hitachi model. Great projector for gaming and movies! I don’t have windows in the room where it’s set up, but I do have to dim the lighting to get the best picture…I have the projector approximately 11’ from my screen and not sure how it would do in my living room where it’s bright out during the day.My first one I bought 6+ years ago and it is still working perfectly. After going with a with a wireless Sony speaker setup it’s just GOLDEN.however the UI for menu is very archaic. The only thing is when you first start it up, you get an awful rattling noise that lasts about 60 seconds.Disappointment coming from one of the leading projector manufacturers.

For those on the fence about buying this, go ahead and get it!! Coming from a 65 inch 4k tv, this is a huge upgrade in my opinion. This is my third projector and second Optima.Cons – lamp area is super hot, can’t touch it.First, the device always had HDCP errors.I’m impressed with the quality all around. Can have lights on in the room and still see the picture fairly well.Works exceptionally well with Xbox one and Amazon fire stick HD.Setup was easy.#1 was good, this one HD28HDR is a dud! The fan in it is super LOUD (terrible whining noise….Great picture.First, don’t buy or of those they are junk.I just hooked it up and finished watching a movie. The picture is pretty damned good, and I’m playing a few different games, from shooters to RPG’s, the biggest thing I was worried about was lag, I can say that its impossible to see.The backlit remote control is very useful in a dark media room. We’ve used it in the back yard on a 144-inch screen.
