No-set up instructions and they claim it sets itself up.The contrast is better than I could have hoped, the colors are vibrant and clear.I have always been very happy with Optoma, so I decided to stick with them when I was shopping for a new 4K projector. The VAVA offers a much punchier image in a living room – The big feature for me was the P1 wide color gamut + 12 bit color depth to have a true HDR experience. Can’t get unit to respond and have been hung up on 2 times by Optoma so far.It is simply awesome .I was going to cave in to a TV, but I am glad I didnt.I was wrong. We like this one more and if we send one back it will be the VAVA, most likely.I debated between Ultra-Short Throw projectors which are more expensive than long-throw projectors that you can mount on your ceiling or on a wall.My gripe, I believe the dynamic HDR setting was causing the projector to change the light output too often.Instructions state set up projector first then install a screen.I haven’t set up my screen yet, so I have only used it on my grey wall, however, the 120 inch picture it’s putting out is incredible.Picture quality out of the box is the best I’ve seen from a projector that doesn’t cost well over $7000 and makes the average television an afterthought when using a ALR screen.I planned to use a 120″ screen to help catch grammar errors earlier on the bigger screen. It’s also quite easy to set up.The picture quality is equivalent to my QLED TV.Overall, picture looks alright, but I’m experiencing a lot of color banding issues whenever the sky is shown on the screen. My PC uses an i7-9700K intel chip and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 video card, which apparently uses an HDMI 1.I’ve done some preliminary testing with Smart+ technology enabling Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant … a highly convenient and valuable feature.
Unboxed, setup, and ran updates.I preordered mines Sept 8, a must for a product like this that wont last on the shelfs.First thing, I threw up some 4K content from YouTube on a 120″ VividStorm Floor Screen and it I had no words on the clarity and color.I waited all year for the P1 and it left me mostly disappointed.Images are razor sharp and vivid colors.I will follow up with pictures when I get the screen permanently attached.Sound quality is good without need for additional speakers. They sent me a software update zip file to my email which was almost 1gb after extraction.love having my own home theater 🙂 As others have stated, significant issues with remote not working, and no other way to control unit.So I have spent about a week with the projector.Well worth the wait to.The fan is not silent, and it gets louder when the processor is working harder (i. I’ve been waiting for this projector since the CES show in 2019 and its finally here!!!!!!!! I have a small mancave and was in need of a short throw projector and this 4k UST was exactly what I needed.First off no one talks about this but the 3D looks amazing compared to my psVR setup. It uses the same technology that other projectors use in compressing pixels to get to 4k.There aren’t a ton of apps available, and it remains to be seen how good of a job Optoma does of keeping the Android OS up-to-date, but the UIs for adjusting the picture are excellent and the picture quality is just superb.
After reading all the reviews decided to give it a shot on the projector first before buying any screen.Having looked at what this relatively new ultra short throw laser technology had to offer I became excited and my search for the best options began.
