When I saw this one I decided it was time to spend real adult money and get a $3000 projector and WOW the difference.Short throw projector not recommended. This projector was a big improvement in my eyes.If you’re looking for a higher-end projector to round out your home theater, you’ve found it.$2800 boat anchor.Fortunately it has a picture to go with that size so once it’s up and running you won’t mind.I use a conventional, inexpensive rigid projector screen because this is what most people have or can afford.Unfortunately the instructions for quick set up are too brief, and there’s no information about setting up the projection distance .My family has been using it for past 4-5days now and thus far it has just been great and many complements…Only suggestion I have is for better service, Amazon needs to be bit more transparent on processing of order to the customer. The 5040 UB is a true home theater projector with outstanding picture quality.THen it would crash, and the fan would get SUPER loud, while flashing warning lights on the front. With this in mind, please know that I’ll do my very best to review the LS100 according to the strictest AV standards for quality, efficiency, and value I know. The screen size is 16:9.the fan is audible during use, but not nearly as loud as my old PS4! this is paired with a 10′ projector screen. It projects a 10-foot picture perfectly.I have this projector sitting on a low cabinet a few feet away from the wall and its far enough to project a monstrous viewing image.I have been using this projector since January 2018 till today may 2019 it has been working 24/7 only last month image quality gone a bit low, otherwise it worked perfectly, no problem, no difficulties. You can get the same quality if not better from a less expensive unit.
When we first got this projector, I thought we’d use it only occasionally, when the family gathered to watch something. The Epson LS100 is a short throw projector, it does not need as much distance from the wall as the usual long throw projectors. We thought, one day we will get a projector and have it installed in our ceiling 10′ from a screen, and have an entertainment system that could connect our video game systems and Blu-Ray player, but the cost and inconvenience of wiring and installing a traditional projector kept us from doing it.The life on the laser runs something like 25,000 hours, which is phenomenal. The picture is incredible.I love that you can just set it where a TV would go in your entertainment setup and start hooking it up without running long cords.Obviously it’s an investment, but if you have a good spot in your home for it , it will turn your house into the perfect party/game watching house. The picture it delivers is HD quality: very sharp and vibrant colors. Please see the photo attached of its specifications as well as the video showing how to set-up and use some of the basic features.I’m in the first…get to review it for free…obviously a nice perk! So here’s the thing…I really do like this, and I think you will IF it fits your need.I’ve attached a photo of the image on a 120 inch screen we setup in our living room and it really looks as good a normal television set if not better but much larger. The Epson LS100 UST laser projector is definitely a heavyweight contender for the title, it is big, powerful & can easily razzle dazzle you with it’s visuals & then knock you out with it’s price lol… sorry had to get that jab in there 😉Seriously though… if you have the dough the LS100 just might be the right way go, as it IS an impressive example of cutting edge projector technology –what I like –Ease of use – the LS100 is a user friendly unit, easy to set up & the control interface is intuitive & simple enough to pick up right away. The main draw for me was not having to run wires through the walls to hide all the connections to the projector that normally was mounted overhead, just behind our seating position. That said with the LS100 it’s not about getting what you pay for, it’s about getting less and having to pay way more. However, after just a few months of use, the laser failed and I had to ship back to Epson for a replacement .I have placed it up against a wall that is off white, but can be painted white. It makes good on its promise of quality digital video processing and full high definition, with the long and hopefully glitch-free 20,000-hour operational life of laser technology.
