a more expensive / higher lumen projector (e.I connected my DTV box to my receiver input, then HDMI receiver output straight to the projector on the ceiling and I was ready to go.Installed it on the ceiling at the beginning of April 2018, and now before the end of June it is dead. Here are the must have specs: 1) Bright output 3,000 lumens or higher.Picture quality is great, easy to set up, and decently bright in the right circumstances.I do an incredible amount of work on computer and watch movies and games on Ps4.5 or Optical) other than your HDMI.Our 9 year old BenQ died so the hunt was on to replace.1 Speaker set up.It’s very bright and works well in ambient light so you can watch movies and play games even during the day. It’s ceiling mounted in an office environment – it is only powered on/off with the remote and the power is supplied from the ceiling so nobody is messing with the power cord. The on board speaker is way less than adequate to use by itself. But awesome video. It became annoying and I was back on the hunt to find a projector that would fit my precise specs (8ft throw/100" screen.Overall I’m quite satisfied with this purchase, great bang for buck. Also it seems like it should be easier to ‘center’ everything on set up, but even facing directly towards a projector screen or a wall, the picture still needs tweaking to square up.I am using it on a 12 foot diameter flat white wall in my living room, which has some amount of ambient light even with blackout curtains.I use it with a firetv stick so I paired a bluetooth soundbar to the firetv stick and turned the projector audio off altogether, another option is to diplex the audio from the hdmi cable of the device you are plugging into the projector using an hdmi audio extractor. It works great.
So far, for indoor use, it is fabulous.I recommend this projector to any sports fan or if you just want to have a family night at home watching movies. Some complain about the sound of the fan but coming from a ViewSonic 8200 pro where the fan seemed about just as lond if not louder sometimes even with rigorous cleaning of the vents and fan.The color fidelity and tonal quality is excellent and true.Even with the lights on people think it’s a tv not a projector .We use these in a church and the fan noise is so loud when in normal mode that it’s unusable. The only issue might be the obscure scenes which become undistinguishable.Which was a bad sign of possible damage to the unit.It is way beyond my expectations within a short distance we see a big size screen with HD image feels like in a theater.Picture quality and brightness is great. It has an internal speaker which is just about useless. Also quick corner is life!!! A very efficient way to make the picture fit perfectly no matter what the screens dimensions.I can’t say enough for the concern and quality of the care provided by the customer service representatives.knew sound wasn’t going to be the best so used soundbar hooked up too video source. And it is so much better. This Epson projector focuses even at corners. They love it.No 5 star because it needs an audio out channel..
Even in a partially lit 800 sq ft conference room, there is plenty of brightness to clearly see everything on the screen with training videos, powerpoints, and spreadsheets .After finding the right place to mount it, I could not be more pleased.I tried a lower priced option and had to return it for quality issues. My previous projector had to be in near darkness to be visible. It’s excellent quality in dark.We use it for outdoor movies.I needed to mount projector far from screen, about 4 meters, and adjust picture size, this one could not accommodate. Please be advised that output to speakers requires additional equipment!!! I had to spend many hours talking to friends and watching YouTube to make right.Picture quality is awesome. It is fantastic! Once you have any shade, it is visible and after dusk, it projects like a TV.So much so it feels like a giant LCD TV on my 125″ screen.A little expensive than another home cinema, but it’s worth to buy it.I used in Latin America.Very happy and use it everyday for gaming and movies.Easy to set up, very faint noise of the fan running and it has an Eco mode that turns the projector off when it is left on and not in use.The only thing I feel that could use a fix is the volume. Our new Epson Home Cinema 1060 is noticeably brighter. No complaints.
